Becky
Heidesch, MBA, MA, BA
Chief Executive Officer, Founder, WSS, LLC
Currently
the CEO & Founder of Women’s Sports Services (WSS) LLC,
Heidesch brings a combination of sports, business, and career development
to her current management role. She spearheaded the company’s
evolution from a sports marketing agency to the leading diversity
recruiting company in sports and is directing the company's efforts
to focus long term on career development and job placement for women,
minorities and professional athletes.
She served as
a women’s sports marketing consultant for Marilyn Oshman,
chairman of the Board for Oshman's Sporting Goods, Franklin Covey,
California Interscholastic Federation, the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks,
and Hyundai Motor America. Prior to the launch of WSS, Heidesch
was Director of Human Resources and an Executive Search Consultant
in the private sector.
Heidesch spent
five years in college athletics as a head coach on both NCAA and
NAIA levels. In 1986 as a head coach at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo,
her team was ranked #1 in the nation in the NCAA polls and she was
named the NCAA Western Regional Coach of the Year and the California
Collegiate Coach of the Year. In 1990, while at Linfield College
she was named the NAIA Western Regional Coach of the Year. In the
mid 90's she compiled and produced an NCAA Rules & Compliance
publication for the Big West Conference, and was a coaching presenter
for the Amateur Athletic Foundation in Los Angeles.
A popular speaker
on the topics of entrepreneurship, career development and women's
sports, she is frequently asked to speak on sports and career related
panels and is often solicited by the media as an expert in her field.
Her professional involvements include the National Sports Marketing
Association, National Association for Female Executives, National
Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators, Black Women
in Sport Foundation, Women’s Sports Foundation, Professional
in Human Resources Association.
She holds an
MBA from Concordia University, Master’s Degree in Physical
Education & Sports Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree
and a California State Teaching Credential from California Polytechnic
State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.
Mary
Lou Youngblood, BS
Chief Operating Officer, WSS, LLC
Mary
Lou Youngblood brings a history of professional sports, service
and competition to her position as Chief Operating Officer of Women’s
Sports Services, LLC. In her current role, Youngblood oversees operations,
R&D, customer service and client relations. She has been responsible
for overseeing research and development for WSS and overall company
operations.
Her past work
experience includes recruiting, community relations, PR and sales
roles with high profile sports organizations such as the WNBA Champion
Los Angeles Sparks and World Champion NBA Los Angeles Lakers. In
her years with the Lakers/Sparks family, she worked as a liaison
with corporate America, women’s leagues, minority organizations
and the community. She has coordinated hundreds of events, player
appearances and autograph sessions. She has been an advocate of
women and minorities through her various positions and roles in
athletics and business.
Over the years,
Youngblood has worked with a variety of clients including NIKE,
Lady Footlocker, Reebok, American Express, Champion and more. She
has served on the committee for Los Angeles Parks & Recs “Raise
the Bar” which oversaw Title IX progress for the City of Los
Angeles.
A national champion
collegiate athlete, she won an athletic scholarship in softball
at Texas A&M University where she played from 1978-1982. In
1982, she was named to the All-Regional Softball Team while winning
the last ever AIAW National Championship. She holds a Bachelor’s
Degree from Texas A&M.
